The Virazón del Monte Real Club de Yates consolidates its leadership in the SabadellGallego Class J80 League after the fantastic results achieved on the second day of the competition, held this Saturday in the Bay of Baiona.
The crew skippered by Miguel Lago achieved three first places in the three tests held this afternoon, with waves of about 3 meters and a wind that remained at about 14 knots until the end of the competition, when it fell in intensity.
His biggest rival in the water was again, one more day, Guillermo Caamaño’s Alumisel. He put up a fight in all the races, but he couldn’t unseat Virazón from the first position in any of them. Both are still first and second in the general classification, but the minimum distance that separated them after the first day, of just one point, is now 7 points.
Where there were changes was in the third drawer of the provisional podium, which is now occupied by Juan Luis Tuero’s Luna Nueva, after unseating Enrique Porto’s Ferralemes, absent on this second day of the competition.
The Namasté by Luis de Mira and the Pazo de Cea by María Campos complete the classification of the J80 Class League organized by the Monte Real Club de Yates and sponsored by SabadellGallego, with the collaboration of Vitaldent and the Xunta de Galicia.
The competition will continue on November 14 with a new day in the bay of Baiona. Before the awards ceremony, three more tests will be held on November 28.
