King Juan Carlos arrives at the Monte Real Yacht Club to participate in the Prince of Asturias Trophy

Baiona, September 2, 2017.- His Majesty King Juan Carlos arrived in Baiona this morning to participate as a sailor in the thirty-second edition of the Prince of Asturias Trophy, which is being held until Sunday in the Rías Baixas under the organization of the Monte Real Yacht Club and the Military Naval School . The emeritus monarch arrived at the Baiona club after eleven o’clock in the morning accompanied by his friend and racing partner, Pedro Campo, and was received by the president of Monte Real, José Luis Álvarez, and the commander-in-chief of the Military Naval School, José Maria Nunez Torrente.

After holding a preparatory meeting with his team, Don Juan Carlos, he will go out on the water to compete in the first tests of the trophy starting at one. He will sail aboard the Bribón Movistar, an international 6-meter class sailboat, in its modern division, assembled by businessman José Álvarez, built in Galicia and launched in Sanxenxo last May. In addition to Pedro Campos, the crew is completed by Alberto Viejo, Alejandro Abascal and Roi Álvarez.
