Baiona Bay will be the scene this Saturday of two important nautical competitions organized by the Monte Real Yacht Club with the sponsorship of Vitaldent and Baitra, and the collaboration of the Galician Sailing Federation and Jesús Betanzos Naval Accessories.
The first tests to be held, starting at half past two, will be the Baitra Trophy – 420 Galician Championship, in which some fifty sailors between the ages of 14 and 18 will participate, coming from different parts of Galicia.
On the water, crews from clubs such as those from Oza, A Coruña, Portosín, Vigo, Rodeira, Aguete or Baiona, among others, will fight to win the highest regional title in the category. A title that the Real Club Náutico de Aguete has held since last year, after achieving victory in the previous edition at the hands of Pablo García and Andrés Álvarez.
Shortly after the start of the first of the youth championship regattas, the Vitaldent Trophy of the J80 class will begin, which this Saturday reaches its halfway point. After an exciting second day, in which Miudo snatched the lead from Virazón, the J80 fleet will compete this Saturday in the third of the six scheduled stages.
Both competitions will take place in regatta fields located in the bay of Baiona, with complicated weather conditions due to wind and rain.
