Baiona, February 19, 2016.- The fishing village of Baiona will crown this weekend the Galician champion of the 420 sailing class from among the nearly fifty young sailors who will participate in the regional championship organized by the Monte Real Club de Yates with the sponsorship of Baitra Accesorios Navales and the collaboration of the Galician Sailing Federation.
The initial tests, which had to be suspended last weekend due to bad weather, will be held tomorrow, Saturday, at half past twelve in the Bay of Baiona. The regatta committee will try to start four regattas that will be completed on Sunday with another three more to choose, with a maximum of 7 tests, the winners of the championship.
Among the favorite clubs to win the title is the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, which placed several of its crews in the positions of honor in the previous qualifying regattas. In addition, sailors from the yacht clubs of A Coruña, Oza, Portosín, Vilagarcía and Baiona participate in the competition.
The Baitra Trophy – 420 Galician Championship will be held over two days, on Saturday and Sunday, and will end with the award ceremony at the Monte Real Yacht Club.
