The young sailor from Xábia and Spanish Champion of the 2.4mR Class, Rafa Andarias, is the provisional leader of the Vitaldent 2.4mR Adapted Sailing Championship after the tests held this Saturday in the Bay of Baiona.

Andarias, from the Club Náutico de Jávea, dominated for much of the route. He won the first round, got two second places in the rest, and finally took over the temporary leadership of the competition.

Waiting for what happens tomorrow, Sunday, the provisional podium is completed by the sailor from Huelva, Borja Melgarejo, from the Punta Umbría Club, and the Galician Fran Piñeiro, from the Escota Sailing Club in Vigo.

Today’s day was marked by the wind, which allowed the first test to be carried out as planned, but which considerably delayed the start of the second. It took a long time to settle and forced to modify routes, but it finally stabilized and allowed a second and third tests to be carried out with more than favorable conditions.

The Vitaldent Adapted Sailing Championship, included in the II Iberdrola Paralympic Sailing Circuit, continues tomorrow, Sunday, starting at noon, in the waters of the Bay of Baiona. In the afternoon the awards ceremony will take place at the Monte Real Club de Yates de Bayonne.
