The Vitaldent J80 Trophy continues on Saturday, February 28 with the third day of a competition that will continue throughout the month of March
Miguel Lago’s Virazón won the second day of the Vitaldent J80 Trophy held this afternoon in the Bay of Baiona. The Monte Real Club de Yates boat managed to prevail in a regatta in which bad weather was the protagonist.
The complicated weather conditions, with winds of 24 knots on average and gusts of up to 30 knots, forced the competition to be shortened. The regatta committee put an end to the first test on the second windward beat and decided not to carry out the rest of the planned tests.
After Miguel Lago’s Virazón, the finish line was crossed by Luis de Mira’s Namasté, Luna Nueva skippered by Juan Luis Tuero and Nortada, with Iago Carballo at the helm. Guillermo Caamaño’s Mi Moneda, which had been victorious on the first day of the championship, was unable to finish the regatta due to a problem with the spinnaker’s halyard.
The Vitaldent J80 Trophy continues on Saturday, February 28 with the third day of tests. A day later, on March 1, the regatta will be held, which was suspended 15 days ago due to bad weather, and there will be three more tests on March 14, 28 and 29.
