Baiona, May 23, 2015.- Andrés Álvarez and Pablo García performed a spectacular performance this afternoon in the Bay of Baiona. The young sailors from the Real Club de Mar de Aguete managed to cross the finish line first in the three races held at the opening of the Baitra Trophy – Galicia Cup of the 420 Class.
Álvarez and García, aged 15 and 18, were, without a doubt, the undisputed protagonists of a great day of sailing, with very good sea conditions and a somewhat shifty wind that blew at an average of 13 knots.
Quite a distance from those from Aguete, and level on points, two crews from Vigo and Portosín are on the provisional podium, those made up of Marcos Cordeiro and Simón Porcio, and Marcos Fernández and Pedro García.
The competition continues tomorrow, Sunday, with the second and last day of tests, starting at half past eleven in the Bay of Baiona.
According to the forecasts, everything indicates that the conditions will be ideal and will allow another three regattas to be held in which the Galician champions of the 420 Class will be decided.
The awards ceremony will take place at five in the afternoon at the facilities of the Monte Real Club de Yates.
