The Virazón del Monte Real Club de Yates leads the J80 Class SabadellGallego League after winning the first day of tests held this Saturday in the bay of Baiona.

The crew, skippered by Miguel Lago, carried out three fantastic regattas in a day in which the gusty and shifty wind also wanted to be the protagonist. It blew with about 15 knots on average, reaching 26 at times, and its constant changes forced the committee to make changes to the course on two occasions.

In spite of everything, the fleet was able to dispute the three tests foreseen in the regatta program. In the first, which started promptly at three in the afternoon, Virazón managed to cross the finish line first, followed by Luna Nueva and Alumisel.

Miguel Lago’s team repeated victory in the second of the tests, leaving second and third place for Guillermo Caamaño’s Alumisel and Enrique Porto’s Ferralemes respectively.

In the last regatta of this first day, the crew of the Alumisel, who had achieved a third and a second in the previous tests, managed to climb the missing step and take first place, leaving Ferralemes and Virazón behind. .

Thus, Virazón is placed, with 5 points, provisional leader of the J80 Class SabadellGallego League, closely followed by Alumisel, with 6 points. A little further away is Ferralemes, with 11 points. Luna Nueva by Juan Luis Tuero, Namasté by Luis de Mira and Pazo de Cea by María Campos complete the classification.

The J80 Class league, organized by the Monte Real Club de Yates and sponsored by SabadellGallego, Vitaldent and the Xunta de Galicia, will continue on October 31 with a new day of tests in the bay of Baiona. Before the awards ceremony, two more days will be held on November 14 and 28.
