Nearly 200 people attended the Baiona Angra Atlantic Race awards ceremony tonight at the Monte Real Club de Yates facilities, organized by the Baiona club and the Angra Iate Clube.

In this first edition of the oceanic regatta between Galicia and Azores, the victory went to the crew of the Xekmatt of the Lisbon Naval Association, skippered by José Carlos Prista from Cascal in the first stage and by Hugo Prista in the second.

In addition to winning the grand prize of the night, the Portuguese received the trophy for the winner of the second stage and the record for the Angra do Heroismo-Baiona crossing, for being the fastest to complete the 865 miles that separate the two points.

Triplet of awards for a crew of family and friends, all professionals from the sailing world, with more than ten years of experience in nautical competitions and a large number of successes in both national and international regattas.

Together with them, the other two protagonists of the awards ceremony were the Cleopatra of the Recreational Nautical Association and the Free Spirit of the Real Club Marítimo de Abra – Real Sporting Club, who achieved silver and bronze in both the second stage and of the general.

The prize for the best boat of the first stage was also awarded tonight in Baiona, which went to the hands of the crew of the Saint Maxime del Monte Real Club de Yates, with Miguel Lago at the helm.
