The Cruising Club of America was launched in the winter of 1921-1922 by a handful of experienced offshore sailors interested in cruising and the development of the cruising type of yacht. Currently it is constituted by nearly 1200 sailors from all over the world who accumulate a wide experience in adventure and recreational navigation and who share the spirit and the desire to share experiences and knowledge through the realization of crossings, social events, publications and posts in the club website. The club organizes and develops the Newport Bermuda Race every two years, and conducts safety seminars at sea for hundreds of sailors.
